“Anita Harris’s mesmerising performance as the crippled cat who seeks a ninth life,‘Grizabella’, created an extraordinary regular audience reaction. At the conclusion of “Memory”, a moment of stunned silence would be heard, followed by audible sobbing, then a growing crescendo of stamping by the audience, culminating in roars, whoops and whistles of approbation. This often continued for minutes. Fitting tribute to a brilliant Artiste who brought a new pathos and dynamic to the role.
